Instructional Technology Integration

The difference between technology use and technology integration is simple. Technology use is when a teacher uses technology themselves, however they don't use it during classroom instruction. Technology integration is when the teacher uses technology in their classroom. Powerpoints, online exercises, and group projects using the internet are examples of technology integration. Integration allows the students to be involved with the class lecture. It also helps students learn. If they see a powerpoint or even an overhead usually students learn the material better.

  1. Nicole,

I completely agree with your definitions of technology use and technology integration. I definitely think that integration helps students learn, especially since technology is such a large part of student's lives these days. i think technology integration is something we all, as future teachers, should focus on in our careers.

  2. I definitely agree with you. I've been in classrooms where teachers don't really use much technology as well as classrooms where they use it all the time, and I think that students learn a lot better if there is some sort of use of technology. Computers are such a big part of people's lives these days that I think it's hard for students to learn without any technology. It's like there's a void that needs to be filled when there's no technology.
